How to Publish Your Art

A Step-by-Step Guide to Publishing Your Artwork on Peggy

To help artists publish their artwork smoothly on Peggy, we’ve outlined the key requirements and steps needed to get your work ready for collectors. Follow this guide to ensure you’ve set everything up correctly and can publish your art with ease.

Step 1: Set Up Your Banking Information

Before publishing, you’ll need to set up your banking information in your profile settings. This one-time setup is crucial, as it enables Peggy to process payouts for primary sales and ensure royalties for secondary sales. Without completed banking information, payouts can’t be processed.

Here is a guide to completing your payout.

Step 2: Enter Your Shipping Address

Next, set up your default shipping address in your profile settings. While you can change the address for specific artworks, setting a default address saves time and streamlines the process. Rest assured, your shipping information is private and only used to calculate shipping quotes when collectors place bids. Collectors cannot see your shipping location.

Publishing Your Artwork on Peggy

Once you’ve completed the preliminary requirements, you’re ready to publish your artwork.

  1. Add Artwork: On the left sidebar, click “+ Add Artwork.” This will take you to the “New Artwork” page, where you’ll enter basic catalog information.

  2. Artwork Details: Next, you’ll move to the “Artwork Details” page. This is where you’ll enter more detailed information about your piece. At any point, you can save your work as a draft, which will be accessible in your artist dashboard if you need to return to it later.

  3. Complete the Digital Fingerprint: Peggy’s unique digital fingerprint feature enables artwork authentication, provenance tracking, and royalty payments. For more detailed guidance on creating a digital fingerprint, check out our [dedicated article on the topic] (insert link). Or, watch our quick fingerprinting guide.

Note: Images taken during the fingerprint process are stored on the backend and are not visible to collectors.

  4. Add High-Quality Images: You’ll be prompted to upload high-quality images from your camera roll. We recommend starting with a close-cropped image to take advantage of Peggy’s “view in room” augmented reality feature, allowing collectors to visualize your work in their space. For additional guidance, check out our photo editing guide.

  5. Set Artwork Details: Finally, you can adjust the artwork’s pickup location (if different from your default shipping address), customize shipping options, and set an asking price.

Saving and Publishing

Once all fields are complete, you have two options:

  • Submit Artwork: Click “Save” and then select “Submit Artwork” to publish it on Peggy, making it available for collectors to discover.
  • Save as Draft: Alternatively, you can choose “Save as Draft” if you’re not ready to publish.

All drafted and published artworks can be accessed in your artist dashboard, where they can be edited at any time. This flexibility allows you to refine your artwork listings to ensure they’re accurate and appealing to collectors.
