What are secondary market royalties?

A royalty is a percentage-based payout granted to artists (and/or their heirs), to serve as compensation on the resale of their works. Artists typically do not play a role in subsequent transactions of their artworks and are, therefore, typically cut out of subsequent sale proceeds.

We are creating fairer art market for everyone and it starts by bringing the royalties that artists deserve. Artist royalties have been a long time coming for the art world. We’re happy to take on this cause and make a difference for artists and galleries. For every secondary market sale, the artist gets 5% and their gallery gets 5%.
